Newmoon was founded in June 2008 by an ex Allianz Director. A team from British Reserve/Allianz joined Newmoon in 2009. Since 2010 it has been a privately owned business.
Our aim is to provide you with a personal service which combines both a competitive premium and cover. Whilst some competitors compete for your business on price, often with a low introduction offer, we believe that cover is as important and must reflect your special interest and needs e.g. of a musician. Whether you select Newmoon or not, we strongly recommend you look into the policy details as not all "specialist" music instrument cover is the same.
Unlike many of our competitors, who have staff switching from an extensive product range, our approach is to provide you with a dedicated team at Crowborough with direct dial access (01892 280323) to a person, during office hours (09:00 – 17:30 Monday – Friday), who will have an understanding and knowledge of your passion.
Many of our customers deal with the same person year on year and we are often on first name terms with customers, offering friendly advice and service.
All our quotes include IPT and any fees. If you make a change midterm you only pay for any additional risk premium – unlike many of our competitors we do not apply any administration charge to these midterm adjustments.

For new client’s you may also have online access to your policy for certain functions e.g. retrieve a quote, purchase, make certain midterm adjustments.

Music Insurance
The Newmoon team are musicians themselves and all are insurance experts. We attend music events around the country and support music retailers, Associations and repairers throughout the UK. We are members of NAMIR and in the first 10 years of our Band Aid programme, provided support of approx £50,000 to eligible Brass Bands, with our contribution continuing to grow year on year.
Whilst music is our passion, music instrument insurance is our business. Newmoon offer market leading musical instrument insurance with cover against loss, theft and accidental damage with no excess as standard and the option for unattended vehicle cover.
Products were designed by us, to meet the needs of all kinds of musicians and bands at competitive prices, based on our experience and knowledge of musicians needs. We also provide third party liability insurance, for performances by individuals (available if purchasing musical instrument insurance as part of the product) and as either standalone or with musical instruments for Bands, duo, folk, Brass Bands etc. (for Brass Bands please call 01892 280323 for a quote or refer to the Brass Band insurance section under Band Aid). Our cover is available for all classical musical instruments such as flute, clarinet, cello, harp, saxophone, violin, double bass, trumpet etc., electronic musical instruments, digital equipment or associated musical equipment, ensuring that whether you play in a Brass Band, Silver Band, orchestra, wedding band or play solo on your guitar, piano, cello or any other musical instrument, you can find the right cover for you at the right price.
Gun Insurance
We work with both the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) to provide physical gun insurance for its members.
We have built a unique product which offers members the opportunity to select new for old, second hand value or agreed value basis of cover.
We work with these organisations at trade fairs and at local levels with instructors. If you are seeking liability insurance please note we do not provide this cover and would recommend that you join either BASC or CPSA.
